Lori Finlay Hamilton, M.S., APRN, B.C.

Step back, look at the big picture and use that perspective to help people feel well. That’s the fundamental skill that’s allowed Lori Finlay Hamilton to amass an impressive list of accomplishments in the fields of critical care, cardiovascular care and women’s health.

As a member of the Unicity Medical Advisory Board and a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (NP), licensed in the state of Georgia, Hamilton applies her experience and perspective to address seemingly intractable health issues.

She received her graduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, and did her post- graduate work as an adult NP, with prescriptive license, from the University of Utah. She is nationally board certified and her experience includes over 10 years in critical care and two years serving as clinical faculty at the University of Utah College of Nursing. Subsequently, she worked as NP for a large cardiology practice in Salt Lake City before assuming the role of Cardiology NP for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In addition to her role of patient management in the cardiology clinics, she founded and managed a large multi-disciplinary Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Clinic that became a national model.

Hamilton has served a variety of medical advisory boards and committees, including the multidisciplinary task force for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction sponsored by Parke-Davis and Pfizer.

Her passion for helping women feel better and live longer naturally has led her to take the best of her solid foundation in western medicine and go farther, exploring how it can be combined with the benefits of integrative and functional medicine. She is certified in providing customized natural hormonal treatments and has studied the interaction of stress, hormonal and metabolic syndrome to understand how improvements in those areas can create healthier lives. Her focus on these issues, combined with her 20 years experience and training in western medicine, make her a sought-after expert in women’s health issues.

Hamilton, named Who’s Who Integrative Health and Wellness Educator 2007, has lectured nationally since 1991 on women and heart disease for several prominent companies. She’s authored numerous articles and a chapter in a major nursing textbook.
